# Privacy

StageMic stores your show files and autosaved work locally on your computer.

StageMic does not upload your show data or usage analytics to us or any third party provider.

## Show data

Your show can contain information such as:

* Production, scene, character and actor names.
* Mic allocations and detected handovers.
* Show-specific settings.
* Approvals for intentional multiple-mic allocations.

Saved `.mic` files are stored wherever you choose to save them. Autosave is stored in StageMic’s application-data folder.

StageMic does not provide cloud synchronisation. If you choose a cloud-synchronised folder, shared drive or external backup service, that service may copy your files according to its own settings and privacy policies.

## Backstage displays

When you connect backstage displays, StageMic shares live show information directly with those devices over your local network.

This includes the current scene, handovers, actor and character names, current mic allocations and completion status.

Display traffic does not need an internet service or a StageMic cloud server. The controlling computer serves the displays directly.

Use a trusted backstage network. The local display connection uses HTTP and is not encrypted, so it should not be exposed directly to the internet or treated as suitable for a public network.

## Crew login cookies

The Crew display uses a cookie to remember a successful login.

The cookie:

* Is used for Crew access, not advertising or analytics.
* Does not contain the Crew password.
* Can remain valid across StageMic restarts.
* Is invalidated when the Crew password is changed.
* Expires after up to one year.

Clearing cookies or using private browsing may require another login.

The Crew password is stored as a salted hash on the controlling computer. Crew access settings are stored separately from `.mic` show files.

The complete-only display does not require a Crew password. Any device that can reach that display can use its permitted completion controls.

## Licensing

StageMic contacts Keygen for licence activation, required check-ins and other online licence-management actions.

Licensing requests include the licence key and information needed to identify and validate the computer’s activation. StageMic derives a machine fingerprint from an operating-system identifier.

Your show plot is not included in licence requests.

Licence credentials are protected locally using operating-system secure storage. The number of permitted activations and the requirements for offline use depend on your licence.

## AI

AI assisted with StageMic’s development. This does not mean your show is processed by an AI service.

StageMic does not send actor names, show files, allocations or usage analytics to an AI provider. It can't.

## Information you choose to send

If you contact support, submit feedback or attach a show file to a bug report, the information you submit is shared through that service.

Check screenshots and attachments before sending them, particularly if they contain cast names, private production information or licence details.

We recommend not uploading .mic files to bug reports, instead, send them to [StageMic Support.](mailto:support@stagemic.co.uk)
