The Character plot shows mic allocations from each character’s perspective. Characters appear down the left, with scenes across the top.

Reading a cell

A cell shows the number of the mic allocated to that character in the scene. If no mic is allocated, the app shows a dash. If the character has multiple mics, the cell shows all relevant mic numbers. Handovers involving the character appear beneath the allocation.

Handovers

Handover text identifies the mic and the person or destination involved. A handover can appear in a scene where the character has no allocation. For example, a character may hand over a mic during a blank scene before the next wearer needs it. The handover’s placement comes from the allocation sequence, rather than from the character’s current cell alone. See Understanding Handovers.

Editing allocations

Use the Mic plot to change allocations. The Character plot updates from the same show data, so there is no separate character allocation plan to maintain.

Multiple-mic warnings

Red highlighting identifies multiple allocations involving the character or their linked actor. For example, two different characters may each have one mic but still produce a warning because the same actor plays both. Use the allocation review controls to mark deliberate multiple-mic arrangements as intentional.

Character order

The row order follows the Characters list in Production setup. Use its up and down controls to change the order.

Scrolling

Character names and scene headings remain visible while scrolling through the table.

Sharing and printing

Use:
  • Export CSV to save the character plot as a CSV file.
  • Copy table to copy a table for pasting into another application.
  • Print → Character plot to print a formatted report.
The copied table uses a simplified layout for sharing. Its formatting differs from the table inside StageMic.
