Enabling alerts
In Production setup, enable: Alert me about handovers not marked complete The setting is off by default. It is saved in autosave and.mic show files, so it travels with the show.
When an alert is triggered
StageMic checks the scene being left when the new scene is immediately after it in production order. This applies to scene changes made through:- Next scene →.
- The current-scene dropdown.
- OSC, including specific scene messages.
Opening to the next scene, The Station, qualifies in the same way.
When an alert is not triggered
StageMic does not send an incomplete-handover alert when:- Selecting a scene for the first time.
- Selecting the current scene again.
- Moving backwards.
- Jumping forward by more than one scene.
What the operator sees
If handovers remain pending, StageMic:- Sends a silent operating-system notification.
- Shows a dismissible warning inside the editor.
What a warning means
An alert means a handover was not marked completed. It does not prove that the physical change was missed. Cast/crew may have completed the change without ticking it. Confirm the situation with the crew before taking action.Correcting completion status
Use Backstage swaps on the controlling computer to correct an individual handover’s status, including one from a previous scene. Dismissing the warning does not mark its handovers completed.Notification settings
Operating-system notification permissions and Focus or Do Not Disturb settings can affect whether the notification appears. If you rely on these alerts, allow StageMic notifications and configure your computer’s notification settings before the performance. Test notification delivery on the computer you will use for the show. Before each performance
If you use alerts:- Confirm that the setting is enabled for the show.
- Reset all completions in Backstage swaps.
- Check that backstage devices are connected.
- Make sure the cast/crew know how and when to mark handovers completed.
- Test a pending handover and a normal one-scene advance during setup.
