You can clear a single allocation, clear a mic across the show or start a new blank show. Choose the smallest change that matches what you want to remove.

Clear one cell

In the Mic plot, open the relevant cell’s dropdown and choose the unassigned option. This removes the character or Mic table assignment from that scene only. The mic remains available, and its allocations in other scenes are unchanged.

Clear a whole mic

Click the mic’s number on the left of the Mic plot. After confirmation, StageMic clears that mic’s allocations across every scene. The numbered mic remains in the show so that you can allocate it again.

Reduce the mic count

If you want to remove physical mic rows from the show:
  1. Open Production setup.
  2. Enter a lower number of mics.
  3. Select Set mic count or press Enter.
  4. Confirm the reduction.
This removes the highest-numbered mics and their allocations. Use this when the show genuinely has fewer packs available. Use Clear mic when you want to keep the pack but replot it.

Start a blank show

Select New in the header. StageMic asks whether you want to save the current show before replacing it with a blank one. See Saving, Autosaving, and Loading.

Clearing is not a return to the table

An unassigned cell leaves the mic’s wearer unspecified for that scene. If you want to record a physical return, choose Mic table instead. Clearing an allocation can change how StageMic detects a handover. A gap between two wearers may cause the handover to move to the first blank scene.

Clearing is not a completion reset

Removing an allocation changes the show plan. To prepare completion tracking for another performance, use Reset all completions in Backstage swaps. You do not need to clear or rebuild allocations.

After clearing

Review the surrounding scenes and Backstage swaps list. Clearing cells may remove handovers, move their timing or invalidate intentional multiple-mic approvals. Changes are automatically saved. Keep a separate .mic backup before clearing substantial parts of the plot.
