Completion tracking lets crew mark physical handovers as done. The status is shared across connected backstage displays and the controlling computer.

Marking a handover completed

On a Crew or Complete-only display, select Mark completed on the relevant handover. After StageMic confirms the change:
  • The handover turns green.
  • Its status shows Completed.
  • Other connected displays update.
  • The corresponding row in Backstage swaps turns green.
Mark the handover when the physical change has happened, according to your crew’s agreed workflow. Each handover has its own status. A return to the table and a later collection are separate changes.

Undoing on a Crew display

Crew displays offer an Undo button briefly after marking a handover completed. After that button disappears, hold the completed handover’s button to mark it incomplete. A normal short tap does not undo it. When using keyboard activation, StageMic asks for confirmation instead of requiring a pointer hold. These controls help prevent accidental resets while still allowing corrections.

Complete-only displays

Complete-only displays can mark pending handovers completed. They cannot undo a completion. Ask someone with a Crew display or access to the controlling computer to correct a mistake.

Correcting from the computer

In Backstage swaps, use the status control at the right of a row:
  • Clicking ○ marks it completed.
  • Clicking ✓ marks it incomplete.
These controls work throughout the show, including handovers outside the currently selected scene. Changes are shared with connected displays.

Disconnected displays

Completion controls are disabled while a display is disconnected. Actions are not queued for automatic submission later. If a request times out, check the handover’s status after reconnection before trying again. The computer may have accepted the change even if the device did not receive the confirmation.

Moving between scenes

Completion states remain when you move forwards, backwards or jump between scenes. Returning to a scene does not reset its handovers. Devices that reconnect receive the current shared status.

Resetting for another performance

On the controlling computer:
  1. Open Backstage swaps.
  2. Select Reset all completions.
  3. Confirm the reset.
This returns the current show’s handovers to pending and updates connected displays. Reset before each performance if you use completion tracking. Restarting StageMic does not perform this reset automatically.

Storage and show edits

Completion records are stored locally on the controlling computer, separately from .mic show files. They persist across application restarts but do not travel with a show file to another computer. Editing the wearer, actor links or timing of a handover can change its identity. Review completion states after substantial plot changes.

Allocations and paperwork

Completion tracking records progress; it does not edit the allocation plan. Current allocations continues to show the plotted wearer for the selected scene. Completion ticks and green progress highlighting are excluded from printed reports, CSV exports and copied plot tables.

Optional alerts

StageMic can warn the operator when advancing from a scene with handovers still pending. See Incomplete Handover Alerts.
