Renaming
Edit the name in the relevant row, then press Enter or move focus away to commit the change. Use clear, recognisable names: these appear in plots, backstage displays and reports. Character names must remain unique within the show.Renaming a character
Renaming a character updates its existing allocations. Its actor link is retained, so you do not need to assign the renamed character to its actor again. Review intentional multiple-mic approvals after changing character names, because the recorded character allocation has changed.Renaming an actor
Renaming an actor updates the links from their characters. Their allocations remain connected through those characters. Review handover completion states and multiple-mic approvals after changing wearer information.Renaming a scene
Renaming changes the displayed scene name while retaining its allocations and internal scene identifier. Its individual scene-specific OSC address stays the same.Reordering
Use the ↑ and ↓ buttons beside an entry to move it through the list. The first entry cannot move up, and the final entry cannot move down. Character and actor order determines their row order in the corresponding plots and reports.Reordering scenes
Moving a scene also moves its allocation column. Scene order affects the chronology of the show, including:- Next-scene advancement.
- Detected handovers and their timing.
- Numeric OSC scene selection.
- Incomplete-handover alerts.
OSC cues
Individual scene addresses use stable identifiers, so they remain attached to their scenes after renaming or reordering. Numeric OSC messages select a scene by its position. Reordering scenes can therefore change what those messages select. If your show uses numeric cues (/stagemic/scene X), check them after changing scene order.
Before major revisions
Save a separate.mic backup before making extensive changes.
Autosave records the revised show; it does not retain the previous order as a separate version.
